Bad Ass Train
Tuesday, October 26th, 2010This is a picture of the train my dad was hopping on headed to work this morning, well, technically tomorrow morning his time.
Just started service on Tuesday, goes from Hangzhou to Shanghai at 275 miles per hour. By comparison your average commercial jet flies around 500mph, the Acela averages 70mph (with a max of 150mph) and the T operates around 2mph, just slightly slower than walking speed.

Does anyone know why the “budda bah bah, bah bahhh” (shut up don’t know how to translate that into words) in the chorus sounds so familiar? Is it from this song or another one? Driving me out of my mind why I can’t place this. And oh yeah, the song rules.

90′s music shout out! This is a clip from a friend of a friend’s ski video edit, $20 for whoever can send me the full length version of this song, from this live set, I have the studio version which isn’t as “mind blowing” <-- see what I did there?? Anyway, the beat is one the best I've heard, not to mention this edit is sick.
Side note: who’s stoked to hit the slopes? If you are fb friends with me, you’ve probably noticed I’m mildly interested in the start of the season.
Asian Culture Befuddles Me
Thursday, October 21st, 2010After spending three weeks in China, I can easily say nothing I hear about the East will surprise me. Especially not McDonald’s weddings. There is literally no way to describe the number of wedding related stores and McDonald’s they have out in China inside of major metropolitan areas. It was only natural to pair the two in my mind, so this was actually probably a long time coming.
Now, live crabs in vending machines.. can’t say it surprises me, but didn’t see it coming.
New Music Friday: Two Door Cinema Club & Phoenix
Friday, October 15th, 2010Disclaimer: None of these songs are new, at all. However, both these bands are headed to Agannis Monday, and if you don’t have tickets you should get some because its going to rule.
The opening act is a group call Two Door Cinema Club, and though most people in the ‘States don’t know them, they are pretty solid. Definitely one of the best opening acts anyone attending this show will see.

Friday, October 8th, 2010It’s finally nice out again, but in case anyone is wondering what being in London is like, its like this week has been, all the time. Gross. Kind of glad I had that reminder last week since I was getting sad about not moving there when I had the chance. Also everything is 3x more expensive. Great to visit, but living/working there is rough. Anyway, if the sun hasn’t done it already, on to some tunes that will certainly cheer you up and hey, its the weekend! Get rowdy! Take off your pants and party! Er, uh, actually, well whatever, I’ll stick with that. Enjoy!
