Pretty sure no one that was around Southie this weekend will be drinking today as we are all still recovering, but happy St Patrick’s Day none the less. At least my deck didn’t collapse like the house down the street.. that would have sucked. Also thanks to John for making my mother feel his chest after the following exchange:
mom: “I used to be a nurse, I’ve seen pretty much everything.”
JHM: “Have you seen THIS?!” [rips open shirt]
I think it was after that occurrence that my dad asked me for a beer, which I gave him in one of those sippy coffee cups due to the “increased alcohol enforcement.”
Also good to have the NYPD and LAFD back again this year, got a badge from one of the officers to “put on the house so [they] know where to come back to.” Interesting to have to ask some Los Angeles firefighters if it was okay for my parents to cut them in the bathroom line at one point.
Pretty much the rest of the weekend will be documented in my facebook album which I’ll have up tonight (just finished sorting the pictures last night.. reduced count from 254 to 63). There aren’t words to describe the events adequately, only pictures can even begin to tell the story that is St Patrick’s Day in South Boston.
